Tey's The Daughter of Time is on my Top Ten Favorite Mysteries books, but this one wasn't up to that level. I thought some of the run-on paragraphs spouted by some of the characters were too much, the pages-long searching done by the young girl to clear a man she didn't even know, the long side-trip about the brother, and the obscure reference at the end of the book that made me search through parts at the beginning, all detracted from the book's flow and enjoyment. An OK read, but not up there with her best book.
