Sala had a secret, one of being in a concentration camp, having seen & endured much during World War II. Sala saw many atrocities that the Jews were subjected to during the war. Sala wrote letters while she was imprisoned & her family wrote her letters. The book is written from the 350 letters that Sala kept througout the war. Other history of the war: Auschwitz, Nazism, and other interesting info. about World War II are written about in the book. A great read.
