Since this is by the author of the Twilight series, which I've read, I have to say that this was definitely better.

The basic premise is that the world has been taken over by aliens that use our bodies as a host for theirs. The aliens are peaceful and so, too, our world has become. Except for a few humans who haven't been caught and converted.

But, of course, there has to be a conflict somewhere. In this case it's with an alien who has been caught by a group of non-infected humans and lives with and learns about them. And starts to doubt that what her race is doing is right.

This story moves much more briskly than the Twilight stories with only a few lags (which isn't bad considering the size of the story) and some repeating.

I thought I read somewhere that this was supposed to be the first in a trilogy, but I haven't seen or heard anything about the second story (the way the first ends sets up a second quite handily). I have seen posters up at my local theater for the movie version of the book. Unlike Twilight I'm actually considering seeing this one at the movies.
