i absoluelty love this book to the point where i have it memorized but i still refuse to give it up. i dont know what it is about their story that i love so much. maybe its the sacrifiies they both have to make. shayna has always loved the mikal that is idolized in her time but when she has to go back in time she meets another mikal, a young and virl michale in his early 30's. he comes to love her and her him but he has to let shayna go back to her own time which is heart wrenching for them both. michale never marries but continues on his quest to for the world shayna now has. if she had stayed the world she had would never come to be so when she left mikals life was based on that one goal for his for shayna. he never loves nayone else he may have mistreeses for his needs but he never loves as he had for shayna and then begins the journals writing to her through centuries. she finds them but is the able to go back and save him . only four years have passed for her but 20 have passed in hsi time since she left. she also had mikals son kaz which she didnt know she was pregnant when she left. they are both up for the surprises when she goes back to take mikal before he dies and his body is never foudn at sea.
