Everyone told me that this book wasn't as good as the Twilight series so I went into it with much lower expectations. As I was not expecting much, the book was good although the editor could have easily trimmed at least 100 pages without damaging the storyline.

The beginning of the book was quite confusing as to the roles of the different "worms." About 150 pages into the book is when it starts to hook you--and then it's a can't put down kind of thing. The story remained really good dealing with adapting to life with humans and the relationships that follow. The fact that the Seeker came back into the story so late seemed gratitious--she was a loose end I didn't care about tying up. Once the Wanderer makes her decision about the future the story seems to drag on for too many pages. The ending is pretty apparent once she makes her decision although how it will happen is unclear.
