I listened to this on OverDrive. My copy had water damage so won't be posted.

This is the 3rd book by Moyes that I have read. I wouldn't hesitate to read more of her work.

I had recently finished reading Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek, which I also enjoyed. Both stories were based on the Pack Horse Librarians , rural women who delivered books on horseback in Kentucky.

I loved the main character, Alice, a young Englishwoman , who in order to leave her judgemental family marries a wealthy American only to discover it didn't give her the life she had hoped for. In order to escape her uninterested husband and overbearing father-in-law, she befriends Marjory, (who I also love), who's on a mission to spread the wonder of books and reading to the poor.

A very enjoyable read.
