Not bad for a weekend read, but don't expect the steamy love scenes prevalent in many contemporary vampire love stories. I think the only place this book could've used some work is in the explanation of "the veil". But seeing as this is only the first of a trilogy, I'm hoping more details are revealed about this mysterious secret underworld where most of the world's vampires reside.

Gideon and Simone's story is a love story, but it's the love story of a sweet, Victorian-age virgin and the vampire who loves her enough to destroy the evil vampire out to do her harm...oh, and to wait for their wedding night. ;-)
