I didn't finish this book. But what I read was pretty good.

It's about a Judge who meets a U.S. Marshall while on vacation and they have a fling, but she disappears or leaves abruptly because she's being blackmailed. A few weeks or months later, he shows up in her life again and is planning to protect her from her blackmailers.
