Frank Campello has been with the Chicago Police Department for twenty years. His partner was killed in their last investigation and he's not looking forward to getting a new one anytime soon. However, his boss has other ideas and Frank finds himself partnered with Andy Polanski.

Andy had turned the tables on some cops from his previous precinct, so he's not making fast friends in his new one. But, he and Frank have been told that a girl's body has been found in a dumpster and to investigate. This leads them to another and before long, they have an organized crime on their hands majoring in sex trafficking.

As the story moves along at a steady pace, Frank begins to see Andy in a different light - forming his own opinion. Andy may be seen as a pariah by other cops, but it's important to him that he do his job well and that his partner trust him. It could be life or death.

With a rock-steady hand, Dodson lays the foundation for his new novel with precision. The story unfolds at a steadfast past, with intriguing characters and a solid plot. I really look forward to the next in this new series, I genuinely enjoyed every page!
