The winter morning air was clean and clear as glass--and sharp enough to cut like glass, too.?

Sunny Coolidge is back with her cat Shadow. Jane, the local vet, is confronted by her ex-husband, Martin, who is also a vet. He and Jane's practices differ as much as their dealing with money. Jane becomes the prime suspect in Martin's death after she and Jane discover his body in his clinic. Multiple affairs on his part as well dirty money creates a pool of suspects if only the police will look beyond Jane.

I enjoy the portion of the book told from Shadow's point of view. He has his own vocabulary for common objects that make me smile. His insecurity gets him in trouble that he may not be able to return from.

A good solid read. 3.5 stars
