Catherine Aird is back in form with this whodunnit.  The humor is fast and furious.  Sloan's wife is going to have a baby and Sloan would rather face villains rather than face the maternity floor of his local hospital.  The case of an older chemistry teacher dying with a huge fortune resting in her bank account keeps Sloan and Crosby busy while Margaret Sloan delivers her first-born. 4.5 stars
