An amazing true account of a woman held captive by the Sioux when captured from a massacre on a small wagon train she was traveling in. The story entails her life for more than five months among the Sioux and Blackfeet; the brutality and hardships she encountered while there; some small kindnesses were shown but they were few. It tells of how she was able to thwart an attack on a fort whereby the Indians were to use her as bait to annihilate all therein. Well worth the read.
