This is a pretty interested book, albeit a bit outdated, although I know it is read by many students in college-level economics courses. The author's writing is witty and truthful, and everyone can appreciate the trials she goes through.
Mainly, it is about a well-educated woman who goes undercover and works at places like wal-mart and merry maids to find out what it's really like to be a "low-wage" worker.
