This is basically a story of what ifs, should haves, and after 7 years apart, a second chance for a couple who fell in love while quite young and allowed themselves to be torn apart by the vicious rumors of folks in their small hometown.

I really liked the story line, but the book had too much repetitious phrasing and explanation of what happened in the past. At one point I actually thought I'd tuned the page back instead of forward because I knew I'd already read that bit, but then I realized I was merely reading the same thing again further along in the book. There was a side story about another couple that was a bit of a waste of time, and I wondered if it was some sort of introduction to a book of their own as was with Alex, another character in the book. The book also included a very weak mystery plot that I didn't like.
