Vaguely haunting with a cast of tormented characters wrestling with their own demons and past regrets. I felt bad for all of their situations. While the author tried to leave each character with a sense of peace and acceptance of where their lives had led them, I found the story just this side of bleak. However, there were a few laugh-out-loud moments, and the descriptive LA landscape brought it roaring back to life for me as if I had left just yesterday instead of 20 years ago. 3.5 stars.
