A fun story with a mixture of mystery, humor, adventure and a little romance in it. A young woman named Alice has quite an eye opening experience when she takes a trunkload of donated books from her town in Illnois to the back hills of Kentucky during the middle of the Depression. She grows in her character as she gets into situations where she is forced to think of other people and their needs before her own. Another good story by Lynn Austin.
