I just recently finished this book. It is the diary of a 14 yr old girl. You see and for me at 44, remember what it was like to be a teen and how exaggerated our emotions are at that age. I Loved the Positive outlook "Nancy" has on life and really came to like her a lot. Even though I knew how the story ends, it still hurt me when it did. The devastation that is AIDS and the raw innocence of youth is captured in this young lady's well written words. I felt like I got to really know her as I was reading the words and was crushed at the end. I hope she knew that her being raped wasnt her fault but sensed that sometimes she thought it could have been. And then to get AIDS too? So sad.. And I hope he had to pay for what he did. As you can tell, I really liked this book--it is a must read for teens, preteens and adults. And I would like to add--People.. Please be safe and sorry to say, but you cant trust anyone. Poor Nancy did and see what happened to her! Very honest, touching story. My heart goes out to her parents, family and friends, I know they all still love and miss her!
