I'm a huge fan of Simon R. Green... I can honestly say I liked this book less than anything else he's written, with the possible exception of After the Blue Moon. Like that book, he didn't really seem to know how to end it, and settled for a huge world-destroying deus ex. In addition, this book is a bit of a hard read, mostly because it jumps around too much between characters. The cast is quite large, and we see through the eyes of most of its members at one time or another.
