This is a very encouraging devotional book. The pages are numbered "Day 1", "Day 2", etc., so if you miss a day (or more) you just read then next one without either skipping devotions or getting behind the calendar. Each devotion starts with a scripture, has 2-3 paragraphs of text, then ends with 1-2 quotations and sometimes a prayer.
The devotions are written with women in mind, but would be appropriate for men also. They are focused on you and your relationship with God, not your roles in life (daughter, sister, wife, mother, worker). A few mention these roles, but they are not the focus. When they are mentioned, they are either in a general way or "if you are married", etc.
