I brought this to the shelf at the old soldiers' home and had no takers after eight weeks, but we have few readers. On the bus I read Chapter 48 and find that this well known novel is still highly readable.
This edition is of particular interest in that she lays out her efforts to learn what it was like to live and work in the industrial towns before the formation of United States Steel. Also, she was able to speak with people who were working there in the 1870s, 1880s, etc.
It has been in print since its publication in 1942.
