Most of Westerson's "Crispin" novels have a bittersweet ending, where Crispin solves the mystery, but he seems to end up less better off than when the story began. This one, while entertaining---although you do have to accept some "leaps of faith" in the story---appears to leaves Crispin and Jack much better off. Unfortunately, we won't know how until the next book.
