A predictable, but very enjoyable, read - especially during the "shut-in" that we're experiencing now. Christina and three friends operate small shops on the wharf on Nantucket. Christmas is coming up quickly and the shopkeepers struggle with cold shops, busy crowds and now a notice from their landlord that he's raising their rent. On top of that, Christina confronts a 9 YO girl who she believes is shoplifting. That encounter changes everything in her life.
