I really enjoyed Donna Fletcher's THE IRISH DEVIL when I read it years ago, but IRISH HOPE was ruined by a pretty silly premise: Colin spends half the book believing Hope is a boy, so I could feel ZERO chemistry between them thereafter. I mean, seriously??
The sex scenes - when they finally came - were overdone. The conflict too contrived. Hope had these ridiculous spurts of pouting anger because she didn't believe Colin LOVED her. The reader is beaten over the head with this faux conflict as if we don't know it's a bunch of page-wasting nonsense.
Sorry, this storyline just wasn't too intelligent. C-/D
