Poor Lexie Jaegar was adopted and her dad tells her as he is dying and Mom has already died. She was raised Mennonite but is not really one now. She goes through hell to find out where is from and ends up working as an Amish midwife. This story has many , many twists and turns. This book was so great that my husband read it. The Amish are all interrelated and You can not pry information from them.Plus her birth records were sealed which can not be unsealed by anyone except the birth mother if you know who and where she is. This is true.I double checked that last fact out.
