I read this book because so many women my age (over 40) said that they enjoyed it as well as their daughters. I would have loved this book if I was 12-18 yrs old- so that is why I rated it so high. If I had a daughter that age I would buy it for her - practically no sex and minimal predictible violence, but less than most books. It brought back a little teenage, first love nostalgia but it was just too Young Adult for me (and I am not a literature snob by any means).
