Book Review of The Transplanted Gardener

The Transplanted Gardener

"The Transplanted Gardener" is a funny book that captures the idiosyncrasies of gardening in a plant-crazy culture like Great Britain. Some of my favorite essays are on dating the age of hedgerows, spats between leading landscape designers and writers in the 19th century, and the inability to find a decent shovel in England.
It's a wonderful collection that pokes good-natured fun at the English, while communicating lots of great information on garden development, history and design.
