This book contains profiles of abortion activists, both pro-choice and pro-life. The author is pro-choice, and her opinions do effect her writing at times, but its still interesting to read about what motivates people on both sides of the debate. It is a little dated, being written in 1990, but it discusses the fight for and against abortion that shaped today's current political situation. There is a section about Operation Rescue, the pro-life organization that used to block the doors of abortion clinics. There is also an interview with the president of Catholics for Free Choice, as well as descriptions of the workings of one abortion clinic. The author's biases show, and some of her statistics on abortion are inaccurate, but I still recommend this book to both pro-life and pro-choice people. The backdrop of the book is the Supreme Court case Webster Vs. Reproductive Health Services that shaped abortion politics in America.
