I've read all of Barbara Samuel's books and they are all good. They each have their own story to tell. Her characters are so rich. You feel you know them too. This book is about Nicole Bridges who is recently divorced. Her husband left her for another woman and he took their daughter. Nicole, unintentionally blew up her house that she shared with her family. Now she has no place to go and doesn't know how to pick up the pieces of her life to make a new life for herself. She finally gets an apartment, and then finds a job. She also meets some wonderful friends in her apartment complex and at work. This story tells Nikki/Nicole's story of finding herself, living a dream and finally being herself. Her ex tells her he's made a mistake and their daughter is only too anxious to have her parents back together. It is a wonderful story. Not great literature, but Samuel will always make you feel like you're right there with her characters.
