After being arrested for murder, conspiracy, and gunrunning, corrupt DEA Agent Nicole Rollins escapes from prison. A huge manhunt ensures, led by the FBI, DEA, and the U.S. Marshall Service. FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is part of that manhunt. She is the reason Nicole was behind bars. Lucy quickly figures out that Nicole did not head for the border. She's still in the area and Lucy needs to figure out why. When Kane Rogan disappears and a couple of DEA agents are murdered, Lucy is determined to find Nicole and her evil cohorts.

This book starts out strong and never lets up. It was a fast-paced procedural with some surprise twists. As usual, Lucy's boyfriend, Sean Rogan, is pulled into the mystery when his brother Kane goes missing in Mexico. Lucy, along with DEA Agent Brad Donnelly, knows there leaks in the DEA and FBI. They are not sure who they can trust.

This is the third book in a mini-series within the Lucy Kincaid series. I recommend that you read Dead Heat and Best Laid Plans before reading this book or you will probably be lost. This book has a huge cast of characters, most of which were introduced in the previous books. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
