On Amazon there are only three reviews of this book: one 5-star and two 2-star. No one made any textual comments.

I give it a 2-star here also. It did have some relevant content, but mostly it was a waste of my time. Why the author even included a section on country music during the 1950s and 60s puzzles me. Most of this section had little to do with the war. And in the section on the movie "Glory," the author spent most of his time describing the negative aspects behind the film. Frankly, I think the author approached this subject with a bias.

I think the only section where I felt the author actually contributed to the literature was the section on Carl Sandburg's six books on Lincoln.
