Hours have passed and Jessie is still searching for the little Appaloosa foal. Now darkness is falling. As she and Morning Star, the foal's mother, follow yet another endless trail, Jessie gives in to despai. It is her fault Starfire is missing. If only she had made certain that the gate was shut.
