All I can say is that I'm hooked. I can't get enough of Amanda Carlson's Jessica McCain series.

This book started fast and continued in the same way until the very end. Initially I felt this book teetered on the same theme as many other supernatural books. Truth be told, I was afraid this book might mimic other books. The main character, Jessica McClain, is a PI. This alone resembles many other books. The part that made it stand out was that Jessica comes from a family of werewolves. In this story Jessica is the only known female werewolves. Now in her twenties she has yet to change. The gene that causes the change was thought to have skipped her because she was female.

Unfortunately for her she changes and is placed in immediate danger when every otherworldly creature discover she's changed. She's an oddity who everyone wants to possess. To complicated things her pack is torn between excepting her and wanting to kill her. Adding to this is a small complication that she's drawn unexpectedly to another shifter who's not a werewolf.

This book has everything you could possibly want in a fast paced book, witches, vampires, Vampire Queen, sorceress, werewolves, and other shifters. The plot has layers that make it difficult to put down. The cliffhanger at the end made me want to scream.

I'm hooked.....
