This is a Victorian Almanac and was first published in 1856. It is a fascinating collectino of lore on practically every aspect of domestic life in the mid 19th century. This is a classic piece of Victoriana reprinted for modern readers. It is hilarious and surprisingly useful, particularly the sections on cooking, home rememdies and other timeless matters. Entries range from Accidents in carriages to ZInc ink for writing. The index in the front is alphabetized and each entry is numbered. This makes it very easy to access the subject you want and find it in the book. 3,028 subjects. This is a long buried treasure. Interesting, educational and very enjoyable.
