Evelyn Baine is a criminal profiler with the FBI. The job is her life. She was raised by her now elderly grandmother, as her mother was an abusive alcoholic. What has steered her throughout her life was the abduction of her best friend when she was 12 years old.

Evelyn is hunting evil personified. He abducts women, tortures them, and then buries them vertically with only their heads showing above ground

After being called in to put together a profile, she is , herself, targeted .... but Evelyn is not a Federal Agent for nothing. She maneuvers and escapes, but as he has injected her with some kind of drug, all she can remember is his blue eyes.

The suspense part of this book begins with several men, mostly other agents or law enforcement personnel, who all have blue eyes and are attracted to Evelyn. Of course, there are such things as contacts, so it's really difficult in discovering who-dun-it.

At first I thought this was a Romantic Suspense but there is very little romance until the very end (no sex) and lots and lots of suspense and action

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I love the character of Evelyn. She has trust issues and takes herself far too seriously, but her inner self wants what most of us want .. to be normal and live a normal life. Being almost the only woman working among a bunch of men, most of them older, maybe wiser, she is determined to prove that she can hold her own.
This is first of a series. The next one is Vanished .. and the 3rd one, not slated to be out until later this year, is Seized. I already have Vanished ordered ... that should take care of my recommendation.
