The premise of this young adult book is interesting and different--four gifted kids (each diagnosed as troubled and all placed in a rehabilitation facility) being able to use their minds to stop world violence. But the story unfolded too slowly to really capture me. Parts were tedious and dragged somewhat, all sad to say, because I really had hoped to like it more than I did. However, the characters were well drawn and very modern in feel. I think most young teens would identify with the themes of worrying about the future and being puzzled and frightened by an ever-increasingly violent world. It's definitely a thought-provoking and worthy read because of the subject matter.
