Carolyn Sullivan is a probation officer who has an uncanny knack of getting criminals to talk. Because of this skill, she is given the task of interviewing Raphael Moreno, a convicted criminal, who hasn't spoken a word since he was arrested. In the meantime, Carolyn's artist (and druggie) brother Neil discovers the body of his girlfriend floating in his swimming pool, who was killed while Neil was having sex with another girlfriend. Yup, it gets twisted even more from there on.

This book is a pretty good read and the real action starts during the last couple of chapters. Following all of the involved parties can be difficult, so you'll want to pay attention. In the end, it all comes out in the wash...uhhh...ocean.
