If you are unaware of the life of St. Thomas More and his eventual murder, you might not feel the undercurrent of danger that runs through this story. I enjoyed the rich detail and many historic characters, as well as the combo of the love story with the Tudor intrigues. Through Meg Giggs, More's adopted daughter, you see a lot more of the many sides of her father, his weakness and passion for orthodoxy. But this is more a wonderful tale of life in the 16th century among the court. Very enjoyable.
