The main character likes to entertain as a stage magician. In reality he can do some real magic and later in the story he finds he can tap into dark magic very easily. He is a member of a small, secret group of people with real psychic ability and this group becomes the target of a dark magic group. His girlfriend and assisstant does not know he is a real magician and this is where I failed to give it a 4.0 - when his abiities are in play to stop the bad guy leashed on his group and the public by the dark group, his girlfriend freaks out because he did not tell her and leaves him. He gets her back through a mind wipe - but I thought he should have left her at the curb as he has someone else who cares for him much more. I'll read the next - hopefully he'll kick her to the curb LOL Good story.
