This story is a bit dated, but fascinating none-the-less. If anybody saw the newest M. Night Shyamalan movie, The Happening (which I didn't much care for!) this book is along those lines, except this is written so well and so very much more believably. It is set in a remote area in the mountains of Colorada, where a group of people have settled to carve out a simpler life. Unfortunately things go punishingly wrong! They think they are fighting the all powerful mining company when all the time it's something completely different.
