Originally written in 1980, and references weren't updated, so there are occasional hilarious/cringeworthy references to burnt orange shag carpeting, quiana dresses, etc.
The story is fairly typical for the time period, except for the ages of the protagonists. Both are in thier early forties, and Katherine has grown children. Beyond that, you have a domineering alpha male and The Big Misunderstanding - Katherine hides her feelings behind an aloof facade, which is misunderstood by Matt as coldness. Still a pretty good read. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
