The story is good but the author throws in so many historical characters that it's distracting and almost seems like filler. (William Shakespeare, Machiavelli, King Arthur, Billy the Kid, the Celtic Wild Hunt, Egyptian Bastet). Because all these people aren't enough, the author also throws in mythical and fantastical creatures too. This series is done for me. What started out as interesting is just getting tedious.
