I first have to say that I loved this book!!!

Nathaniel Cade is a vampire, who after killing many humans, was pardoned by President Andrew Jackson. The strings? A blood oath between him and the President, and all future presidents. He is top-secret. Usually, the only person who knows about Cade is the President and Cade's handler, the liason between the vampire and the President.

But, Cade's handler has cancer, so it is time to train a new liason. Enter Zach Barrows, a young aspiring politician, caught with his pants down with the President's daughter. Zach thinks it is a form of punishment to be transferred, but rolls with it until he meets Cade, and literally pees his pants in fear.

But, determined to make the most of it, Zach and Cade are soon off running on their first case together. Someone is stealing body parts of American soldiers. Someone is taking those body parts and creating "frankenstein" monster soldiers. Cade believes that his old enemy Johann Konrad, the real frankenstein, is behind it all. The problem is proving it, and keeping Zach alive in the meantime.

Nathan Cade really reminds me of a James Bond character. He just wants to get the job done, with whatever means are necessary. A well-rounded character I would love to see more of. All of the characters are well-developed and the storyline is really superb. The plot moves at a steady pace that keeps the reader turning the pages. What is unique about this thrilling suspense paranormal novel is that it uses real historical facts as well, filling in those holes to make the fiction work. It makes it believable. Mr. Farnsworth has penned a stellar debut! I highly recommend it!
