It was okay, found myself lukewarm about this book. After waiting over a year to get it I had high hopes. I read it in less than 3 days not because it was very interesting but because my reading list is so long I wanted to get this one out of the way and swap it so someone else can have it. If you want a hollywood tell all book this is not it. If you're looking for how Fred Thompson really got into movies and television this is not it. This is a slow paced look at the authors chilhood and pretty much a dedication to his father. He jumps all over the place chronologically and always has a sunny disposition no matter what he is talking about. He does not delve into his divorce or any of his children's lives (death of his daughter).
If you have a troubled (or underachieving) youth who likes to read (an oxymoron) they may enjoy this book. A sign that you can do poorly in school and be a rebel rouser and still become a good husband, father, lawyer, Senator and TV/movie star who makes a good living.
