Similar to Quins S's review on this book I too did not read any of the previous tie in books by this author. That said I don't feel it was really necessary as the story itself was a enjoyable Halloween tale. The author threw in an additional short story ("The Baby") following "Halloween Land" Which was more or less an alternate ending. ( The Baby actually was written first, so I guess you might look at it the other way around, making "Halloween Land" the alternate ending....I thought it was a nice change and would actually like to see more writers take that leap and do it more often. Given endings are said to be one of the most difficult phases of a well told tale to write, I doubt this will trend.
