The drawings are very static as is the typeface, by design. Seven very short stories. I liked 'The Stinky Cheese Man' much more.
"Beans and Bacon" recalls for me when we lived for a year in Hawthorne, Nevada, 1953-1954. I was a latchkey kid because mom and dad both worked for the USN at the munitions depot. It was like the 1920s-we actually had a TV but there was no radio or TV reception. Anyway, Dad would cook supper on Thursdays and the main dish was always pork and beans.
Note the very nice dedication.
The book seems to be well printed but poorly bound (in the PRC).
