Sherlock Holmes reads clues, while Arrowood reads people.

This is book one in a 4-book series about a down-and-out private investigator in London. Forget the upper crust, as Arrowood deals with the sordid under life of London. There is corruption everywhere and Arrowood is beset with this own personal problems. Like Holmes, Arrowood also has an able assistant, but one who is more of an asset and is not along to just takes notes for an upcoming article in the papers. So please don't praise Holmes in front of Arrowood, as he gets upset.

The best thing to remember when reading this book is that not everyone is whom they seem to be.
