This is a stand-alone book that was once part of an anthology, so it's only 110 pages long. I thought the story really deserved to be developed a bit further. The plot takes place over several years, but since it is relatively short as a book, the story skips large chunks of time. I would have responded better to the characters if they had been given a bit more page time to really develop. As it is, there's nothing wrong with the book, it just feels like a condensed version of a story that would be a lot more enjoyable in a fuller treatment.
