I don't know the actual word count, but its a lengthy volume and took me quite some time to get through it. Dostoevsky is brilliant. I consider it a literary classic, not only is it a brilliant social commentary but it also bespeaks of all of those 'timeless' qualities, as well as the weaknesses of human nature, from which we can stand to benefit by seeing them within ourselves, and either applying or overcoming.
