There were holes in this story that you could drive a truck through. It felt as if the author had a set of interesting historical tidbits that he tried to weave into a story and the present-day setting/characters intruded upon that. The characters made such extreme leaps of logic, it was mind-boggling. A mystery that had remained hidden for fifteen hundred years was "miraculously" solved in the course of a week because the characters figured it out when absolutely NO one else could, not the Vatican, not the Cosa Nostra. Wow! A hidden map so well hidden until, voila, they found it....a scroll that was indecipherable until , voila, they deciphered it. And, of course, they could outmaneuver the entire Cosa Nostra...why not? Would have, could have, should have been more satisfying if only....the author had introduced a bit of a realistic element to the story.
