First off Kathy Herman is a wonderful author and i have read nothing of hers that i did not like. This is a true-to-life story that poses the question, "is stealing ever ok?"
The story of Sally, who's husband has just left her for a younger woman, she is barely earning enough to stay afloat. Sally works in a nursing home and her favorite patient is Mrs. Rigsby. Mrs Rigsby has told Sally that she has saved some money, she is 90 years old and has dimentia, will anyone know, will it be ok to steal from someone who isn't going to live to spend it when Sally needs it so bad? What happens when the answer to this question is made final is a great story. I never found myself bored with some nice twists and turns and decisions to make.
